The Search Recordings feature in the ViewScape interface allows users to search the guide and closed-captioning data of their recordings for instances of the search term.

FSGUI133

Enter a search term here to search for instances of it in either the guide data or closed-captioning data of previously recorded shows. After accepting the results, the Search function will display a listing of each recording for which the search term returns a result. For each of these hits, the day and date of its recording is displayed. If the search term was found in the closed-captioning data, the time (measured from the start of the recording) it was found in the recording is also displayed.

Selecting a recording from this list will immediately start playback of the recording. Additionally, if the search term was found in the closed-captioning data, playback will begin in the section of the recording containing the search term.
