The SnapStream Alerts feature in the Viewscape interface allows you to receive e-mail updates when the search terms of your choice appear in closed-captioning data.

To create a new alert, select SnapStream TV Alerts from the main menu. NOTE: Before a new alert can be created, ther Enterprise Server's e-mail settings must be configured through the Email Notification Settings page in the Web Admin. If this step has not yet been performed, the following screen will appear:

Once email configuration has been performed, the following screen will appear:

To create a new SnapStream TV Alert, select Create a New TV Alert. Select Advanced TV Alerts Creation for the Web Admin TV Alerts creation page, which allows for additional options.

Email Address
The address to which the alert will be delivered.

Search Term

The search terms that will be included in this alert. Alerts allow for the same search syntax as manual searches. See Searching Recordings and Search Help for more information.
NOTE: Alerts created in Link client will only include one set of search terms per alert. To create an alert with multiple sets of search terms, select Advanced TV Alerts Creation for the Web Admin TV Alerts creation page.

Frequency

The frequency with which alert e-mails will be dispatched. Note: Times of day can be changed in Email Notification Settings.
·As it happens: An e-mail will be dispatched each time new search results appear. Note: Search results are indexed every ten minutes, beginning fifteen minutes in the past. Therefore, an alert sent at 11:00 AM will contain search results from 10:45-10:55 AM.  
·Hourly: An e-mail will be dispatched every hour.  
·Every Other Hour: E-mails will be dispatched on even-numbered hours.  
·Every Six Hours: E-mails will be dispatched at 12 AM, 6 AM, 12 PM, and 6 PM.  
·Twice Daily: E-mails will be dispatched at 12 AM and 12 PM daily.  
·Daily: An e-mail will be dispatched at 12 AM every day.  
·Weekly: An e-mail will be dispatched every Sunday at 12 AM.  

Once an alert has been created, it will appear in the main TV Alerts menu.

The frequency of the alert can be changed from this screen. Clicking on the alert or highlighting it and pressing Enter will bring up the following menu:

Clicking Advanced Edit will open the Edit page for this alert in the Web Admin TV Alerts menu.
